I took a foreigner to Cornwall, and we liked it!

This blog is nice for me as it involves reminiscing back 3 years to my first birthday with Pippa. But that isn't why Pippa's smile is so big in the photo below. She had just found a new polymer £5 note in the car park. #Winning.

The little slice of paradise above is Mevagissey, a beautiful Cornish fishing port. It is pretty small, but like all good small English towns, it has many, MANY pubs.

Pippa hadn't long been in the UK, and this was her first trip 'over the bridge'. She also didn't drink beer and cider back then, this was the first trip of many where her training began.

We started off at The Sharksfin, because, well we love sharks ha! Here I sampled a Tribute Ale, and Pippa had her first, of many Korev lagers. A stumble over the road to The Harbour Tavern, this time 2 Korev's were on order. Here we also sampled Dead Man's Fingers. A Cornish rum, and one we regularly buy now. Go get some. I think we stayed here for a while, as things get a bit hazy...but we definitely then went to get fish and chips as is the tradition when by the sea.

It appears this blog has been mostly about the drinkable delights of the Cornish, but there will be a follow-up as this was also the trip when Pippa took me (and started an expensive tradition) to my first Michelin Star restaurant, Driftwood. Stay tuned food aficionados.
