Self Care

This weekend I decided to take a few moments for myself... but first let me say that I have always been very pro some self care, but have always limited myself to just doing yoga, brief meditation or something like that. I have never really made a big "deal" out of it. Having made a big deal out of it this weekend, I can say honestly that I regret not doing it sooner.
“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
Just some small changes to my everyday routine and I feel so much more... me. As corny as that sounds and I am sure that it does. Self care is something I never thought I would want to do, now it is something I am passionate about. Not only for myself, but I have been trying to promote it in others.

What I found helped me:
Candles, I love them
Music - this can be listening to or even playing if you are that way inclined.
Clean out/up - Crazy how cleaning an area can make everything seem better.
Be in green space - I happen to be very lucky and have a garden, so I actively spent time in it this weekend. I am also planting my own little babies and love them all, yes they all have names!
One-Minute rule - if something only will take a minute of your time... should you not just get it done?
Change - find something you want to change and do it, it doesn't have to be forever. I changed my hygiene routine and had a bath (if you know me, I never do that) and did a charcoal mask (which hurt like hell when I took it off, but my pores are still thanking me). I will add a nice long hot bath to my routine, but I would not do it every day, a small change is still a change.
