Life is Strange Game Review

This game completely destroyed me. I had played similar sorts of games before, mostly from Telltale like the Walking Dead season 1 - that was an emotional rollercoaster, but that game left like it had to be, nothing in a post apocalyptic world would be happy.

But this game, I am not sure what I was expecting when I bought this game on Steam on Saturday when I was living by myself when I first moved to England. I thought you know why not, I had seen something about it on Tumblr and I thought... well that story looks good.

*Cries* It is so good! I cannot believe that it is 6 years ago this game and it is still one of the best around! Basically, you play as Maxine "Max" Caulfield and you discover that you have the ability to rewind time. You end up saving a girls life and that girl turns out to be your childhood best friend. The rest of the game is the story of you reuniting and finding what happened to Chloe's missing friend Rachel. The game goes from one tough moment to another where you find yourself rewinding to help people.

SPOILER ALERT

You eventually overcome all the obstacles thrown in your way (not to mention a murder that you are trying to solve. Nathan and Jefferson are fucking scum.

You then are fooled into thinking that everything is going to end on this happy note - with even potentially Chloe and Max starting a relationship.

Quick backtrack, throughout the game there has been a foreshadowing of a storm that will hit Arcadia Bay, and it is a big one with the potential to destroy the entire town.

Then you are literally given the choice of this:

Save Chloe and doom Arcadia Bay or Rewind time and let Chloe be killed (from the beginning of the game).

What the all living hell! I mean I played the one way and watched the other way on Youtube, 100% not through tears.

I saved Chloe.

What did you do?

So this game gets: 9.5/10
