To start off this review I probably should say that I am usually not the biggest fan of mobile games, do I have a few on my phone? Yes. Are they completely brain dead? More than likely. So I decided to give Stardew Valley a go, I had heard about it on PC and saw that it was on mobile... so why not? With absolutely zero expectations.
It is one of those games that I actually REALLY ended up enjoying. I can see that after a while it might become a little... dull... once you have finished the community centre as an example, but in general it is an easy game to get on board with.
I think the thing that endeered this game to me so much was not only the fact that you can spend hours planting parsnips (and other plants, but you start with the nips) but you also form a connection with the people who live in the area around you, so much so that you can eventually marry one of them - which I find hella cute, but I am incredibly soppy this year.
I think it was a perfect game for me to pick up whilst I was in lockdown, will I play it again? Yes. Will I get bored of it again? Possibly, but would I continue to play it occasionaly... again, yes.
The only thing I am waiting for is the ability to be able to play multiplayer on mobile, I think it will make the game last longer being able to work with people.
So this game gets a: 8.6/10
